"A blade!"
"Near my–!"
"You've got to be kidding!"
If you've ever thought about shaving your downstairs-hairs, something along these lines has probably crossed your mind. The first time shaving your balls can feel like an adventure into uncharted territory, but it doesn't need to.
Like most things in life, you won't be the first to give your undercarriage a bit of a spruce up, and you won't be the last. You're not exactly the Edmund Hillary of testicular shaving. And your crotch stuffer, regardless of how big it is, isn't your Everest.
Many men have taken a razor to their tackle-box and lived to tell the tale, and you will too. To prove it we asked some of our handsome, and shorn, customers (Bilal, Edwardo, Richard, John, Aaron & Franz) to tell us about their first time shaving their balls.
Learn from their experiences, so shaving your balls for the first time doesn't end with you lost in the woods of insecurity and indecision. And instead is an exhilarating expedition on another one of life's incredible adventurers.

Why did you decide to shave your pubes for the first time?
Bilal: Religious reasons. I'm a Muslim and we shave to keep ourselves clean.
John: I just decided to try it out. I thought my girlfriend would appreciate it during sex.
Aaron: I got curious about shaving from watching porn. It looked so neat whereas mine...not so much. I thought I'd give it a try.
How did you feel about it?
John: It was scary. Balls are wrinkly and not straight and smooth like other parts of the body. So it took a bit of courage to start.
Aaron: I was pretty nervous. I've got plenty of hair elsewhere. I knew if I liked it shaved then the rest would have to follow, too.
What was the first time shaving your balls like?
Bilal: It was not easy. I took advice from some friends, but couldn't find much on the internet. It was messy. I ended up with some cuts on my balls and the surrounding areas, but I felt light as a bird afterwards.
Edwardo: The first time I didn't use enough pressure and it didn't really work. I was probably too scared... I didn't do any research. It would feel weird to look up tutorials on 'Shaving your nuts 101'.
Aaron: It was a pretty spontaneous decision and I did absolutely no planning. I just trimmed with the scissors, and then a once-over with a razor. It was a bit awkward and uncomfortable.
John: It actually went pretty well. Your view of that area is a bit obstructed, so I had to try a couple of times.
What advice would you give to someone shaving their balls for the first time?
Bilal: Take your time. Do it during a hot shower. Use lots of foam. Stretch the balls with one hand and fire away.
Richard: Cut the hairiest parts first. Go over it several times, that way you won't miss any spots.
Franz: Never use an electric shaver.
John: Lots of shave foam, that stuff really helps to not get a rash, and make sure you use hot water. And try the razor on another part of your body first. You don't want any surprises!
What was it like the first time someone else saw you'd shaved?
Bilal: My partner liked how smooth I was, that I smelled good and the clean skin around the balls.
Aaron: Unfortunately, no-one saw, as I was single at the time.
John: She laughed and then we had sex. It was great.
Did shaving your balls change anything?
Bilal: It definitely feels more sexy. I feel lighter and the air on the balls feels really good.
Edwardo: It became a bit more airy, which I enjoy. It's definitely more hygienic too.
John: It feels weird and smooth, but I don't feel any more confident or more attractive. It's just shaved.
Aaron: I really liked the way it felt...for about 2 days. Then it started to itch.
Franz: I feel waaaay more confident!
What's something you wish you knew before you shaved?
Bilal: The technique I guess. Stretch and shave. Stretch and shave.
Richard: Trim up first. It makes things easier. Especially around the balls.
John: How scratchy it becomes when the hairs grow out.
Aaron: It takes more work to maintain than anywhere else, and you're going to want to keep it maintained if you're hairy like me.
Franz: I wish I knew electric shavers are not good for balls. That's a mistake I won't make again.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about shaving their balls for the first time?
Bilal: Definitely do it. It feels good afterwards and keeps you clean. And gives you a lot of confidence.
Edwardo: It's liberating. Go for it!
Aaron: Do some research. The nearest razor might not be the best option.
Franz: And be confident shaving down there, especially around the balls.
Done.
